Description
Within the West Frisian Omringdijk you take a beautiful tour through an old cultural landscape and characteristic villages. From the dike itself you have beautiful views over the IJsselmeer and the Markermeer.
The Ven
From the saddle you have a beautiful view on the left of the fifteenth-century polder Het Grootslag. On the right you look out over the rippling water of the IJsselmeer for many kilometers. You pass Lighthouse De Ven, one of the oldest and most beautiful lighthouses in the Netherlands. This white square brick building dates from 1700 and has a beam height of 17 meters. At the end of your route you will pass through the beautiful Streekbos.
