From the Eem Valley to the Utrechtse Heuvelrug

This route lets you enjoy the open landscape in the Eem Valley and the vast forests on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and around Laren. You will also see many sights, such as in Soest.

Eem Valley
The route starts in the beautiful historic building of Grand Café-Boutique Hotel Eemland. On the cozy terrace you can enjoy a coffee with something tasty, before you jump on your bike. Soon you cycle through the protected village view of Eemnes. Here you see the fifteenth-century St. Nicholas Church. A little later you cycle into the Eem Valley. Wow, what a beautiful wide landscape! Along the Eemnesservaart you pass a lock and pumping station, both buildings are monuments.

Picturesque Soest
Along the banks of the Eem you descend all the way to Soest. On the dike it is wonderful to make kilometers. On the edge of Soest you see many old farms: what a beautiful village this is! A little later you drive into the Boswachterij Vuursche. In the vast forests is Kasteel De Hooge Vuursche, a country house from 1912. Via the Zuider- and Westerheide and the village of Blaricum you drive back to Eemnes.
