Tour of Rolde and De Slokkert

Your route starts at Brasserie De 3 Heeren. In the north of Drenthe, various streams make their way north. Deep in the wet Fochteloerveen, the peat stream De Slokkert originates. Seeking the lowest point, it meanders through the Bankenbosch. This area was designated as a new nature reserve not so long ago. It is nice to cycle through it regularly to see how nature is developing here; there is always something new to see! You will also pass the restored dolmen D18 and dolmen D17, a ruin. They are located close to each other, allowing you to clearly see the difference between restoration and non-restoration. Het Dorp van Bartje is a nice place for a break; here you can see many prehistoric finds.
