Cycling in Friesland is never boring! This route takes you through the wide Frisian landscape of polders and lakes. You will also pass through some historic places, such as Joure.

Egbert Douwes
Shortly after boarding the car, you will cycle in Scharsterbrug past some beautifully characteristic workers' houses and a church from the early twentieth century. Joure is known as the town where Egbert Douwes started a shop in colonial goods such as coffee in 1753. In the former Douwe Egberts factory just outside Joure you will pass Automuseum Deventer. A special outing.

Frisian windmills
It is wonderful to make kilometers along the banks of the Sneekermeer. After you have taken a good look at the picturesque Akkrum, you will pass two beautiful polder mills. De Deelsmolen dates from 1859, De Hersteller from 1857. At Hampshire Hotel - St. Nicolaasga you can enjoy your beautiful bike ride in peace.
