Cycling route: 570670
Provided by: route.nl
Your route starts at Eethuisje de Posthoorn, with Restaurant De Bunckman nearby. The dense forests of the Veluwe transport you to other times. Especially if you discover historical places along the way, such as a sheepfold or royal hunting chalet. In the sand next to the path you sometimes see that the ground has been disturbed by wild boars. You pass the Boeschoten Sheepfold. This elongated authentic sheepfold provides shelter for a flock of sheep that graze the heath during the day. You drive to the Aardhuis via forest, heath and the funny hamlet of Drie. This former hunting chalet of William III is now a museum. You cycle back to Voorthuizen via the Kootwijkerzand. On the desert-like sand plain it can reach fifty degrees on a beautiful summer day on the southern slopes!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
