Description

From Camping Waddenzee you drive a bit over Wieringen. You pass through the picturesque village of Westerland, where you can see the village church from 1828. In Hippolytushoef you pass the beautiful old Hippolytus Church. Further on you drive through the polders with their wide fields. It's hard to imagine now, but Wieringerwaard was once on the Zuiderzee. You pass the Polderhuis here. This house was built here in 1612 as the first in the village! De Hoop is a windmill from 1742. Around Anna Paulowna you drive through the largest contiguous flower bulb area in the world. In the season, a beautiful colorful mosaic can be admired here! Cycling along the Amsteldiepdijk, you look out over the Amstelmeer on your right. Just before the Westerland War Memorial you have a beautiful view over the Wadden Sea.
