It is wonderful to cycle around the Belgian Kalmthout. In the woods you can enjoy the peace and fresh air and in the villages on this route there is plenty of cultural history to experience.

Caterer-Taverne Annelies
You start and end this route just south of Roosendaal. In recent years, the nature in the area has been considerably enriched. You will see an old cultural landscape with forests, fields and grasslands and hedgerows. In Nispen you cycle past the Molen Aerden, a flour mill from 1850. In Huijbergen you will also pass a flour mill: the Johanna dates from 1862. On the way you can take a break at Traiteur-Taverne Annelies after about 15 kilometers of cycling . Enjoy a nice snack and a drink here and then get back on your bike.

Brabantse Wal
It is nice to pedal on the cycle path. In the village of Wildert you can visit the museum complex Bakkersmolen and Steam and Bakery Museum. Then you cycle back to the starting point of the route.

Bakery Mill and Steam and Bakery Museum
In the youngest windmill in Flanders you will find the steam and bakery museum. On Sundays, the mill and steam engines are put into operation here. The museum then comes to life. Pay a visit to this museum and learn everything about making flour with a mill and baking all kinds of goodies with that flour.

This mill is a restored stone mountain mill in the center of the village of Huijbergen. The mill is open every Sunday afternoon. You can then go to the mill shop for flour and related products. The mill dates from 1862 and at the time it was the intention to also use Johanna as an oil mill. Ultimately, the mill was never used for that. Today, milling is still done on a voluntary basis.
