Walking in the woods near Leersum

From Leersum you can walk straight into the forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. Put on your walking shoes for a beautiful walk full of natural beauty, silence and cultural history. You immediately walk into the forests that grow on and around the Darthuizerberg. You make a small climb, while you walk between the wonderfully fresh-smelling conifers. So special that rolling landscape, and that in the middle of the Netherlands! In the middle of the forest you pass Huize de Hoogstraat. One of the many country houses in this region, although this residence was only built in 1949. You also pass the building of Museum Valkenheide. Just before the end of your route you can admire the Uilentoren: a striking folly from 1904 on the highest point of the Lombok hill (34 meters). You can climb the tower.
