Cross-border circular walk in the NaturWanderPark deluxe along the Our to the Europe Monument in Ouren

This hike in the NaturWanderPark delux truly runs through the heart of Europe.

The water sparkles. It cascades in countless tiny waterfalls over the polished pebbles. It is a beautiful riverbed that the Our has carved out for itself. For hundreds of thousands of years, the Our has carved its winding valley into the slate and greywacke blankets of the Islek—sometimes narrow and steep, sometimes a little wider with floodplain woodlands and lush meadows. Then the sun glows on the valley floor, tugging at the dewdrops and bringing comforting warmth. Its rays penetrate the clear stream, and you can see trout nimbly scurrying upstream.

The Nat'Our Route 1 begins at the European Monument at the tri-border point of Luxembourg, Germany, and Belgium. The simple and symbolic monument commemorates the signing of the Treaty of Rome in March 1957 and the founders of the European Community.

Further along its course, the Our forms the border between Luxembourg and Germany. During the circular walk, you first follow the Our southwards on the German side, cross it at Tintesmuhle, and then follow it northwards again on the Luxembourg side to the starting point. With the exception of the climb and descent to Königslay, the route remains in the valley.
