Castle splendor around Diepenheim
You'll start your walk in the middle of the countryside with green areas everywhere you look. From here you set course for Diepenheim. After walking more than eight kilometers you will pass the first gem on this route: Nijenhuis Castle. This is one of the best preserved manor houses in Overijssel and the castle is obviously worth a visit. The history of the castle dates back to the late Middle Ages. The castle is open to the public and the sculpture garden with around 80 sculptures around the castle is also open to visitors. From here you walk through the town of Diepenheim to the Castle House in Diepenheim. This house was built in 1648.

Havezate Westerflier
Near the end of the route you will find Havezate Westerflier. This old mansion dates from 1729. The house was inhabited by noble families for centuries. De Havezate is located on a beautiful estate that consists of forests, agricultural areas and straight avenues that are intersected by the Regge. All kinds of special plants grow around the water and various animal species live here.
