Explore the Brabant Kempen from Waalre

The Brabant Kempen region is the perfect setting for a nature trip. You'll cycle through lush forests, along meandering streams, and through charming villages. It all begins at the starting point at the Markt in Waalre, where you'll see some beautiful, historic 19th-century buildings. In the hamlet of Loon, you'll pass several characteristic Kempen longhouse farms. Along the Dommel River, you'll pass the Volmolen (Vol Mill), and then the Stevertse Molen (Stevert Mill), a watermill dating back to 1400. Just past Borkel, you'll cycle through the Malpie region. Some fens were created as fishponds, while others formed naturally in the Dommel valley. You'll pass the centuries-old Venbergse Watermolen (Venberg Water Mill) before cycling through Valkenswaard. You'll cycle back to Waalre along a former railway line.
