Walking route Staverden, Houtdorperveld and Leuvenumse Bos

With this route, you will experience a varied walk around the Staverden Estate. First, you walk along the stream through the old estate forest. It is wonderfully quiet here, ideal for unwinding and enjoying nature. Next, you walk a short distance through the vast Speulder- and Houtdorperveld. On this heath, you will find both old and famous footprints. For instance, Sean Connery walked here in the 1970s during the filming of the airborne landings in the movie 'A Bridge Too Far'. The next part of the route leads you past the meadows of the agricultural enclave of Speuld. On the other side of the road, you first walk a short distance across the heath, after which you explore the Staverden estate forest again. You walk back past Staverden Castle to Brasserie Staverden. Time for a drink on the terrace.
