Walking through Heythuysen and the Leudal

From Heythuysen, you walk straight into the Leudal, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Limburg. Here, you hike through deciduous forest where birches, hazels, and willows, among others, grow. There are also a few small heathlands along your route. What stands out immediately here is the tranquility. This makes the route ideal if you want to unwind for a while. At junction 22, you pass a small bakehouse and a beautiful farmhouse. Further on, you pass several small lakes, and a little later, you have a beautiful view over the valley of the Tungelroyse Beek, which is also known here as the Leubeek. In Heythuysen, surrounding the Sint-Nicolaaskerk, you will see a few monumental buildings, such as a long, white-painted house from the seventeenth century. The route ends at IJssalon Clevers Heythuysen. Here, you can enjoy a coffee or artisanal ice cream at your leisure.
