Walking route from Brasserie Abshoven to the historic city center of Sittard

This will be a lovely walk in a rolling landscape of orchards, grasslands and sloping forests. Until you reach Sittard, you will walk along the leafy Geleenbeek almost the entire time. Here you can enjoy the peace and beautiful views. You will pass through Stadspark Sittard. This used to be a swamp, but between 1921 and 1933 it was transformed into a park with characteristics of the English and French style. At the edge of the park you can make a stop at Buitenplaats De Vief Heringe, a pleasant catering location that is located in the centuries-old Ophovenermolen. In the heart of Sittard you will see plenty of beautiful monumental buildings. Through the hills and the Danikerbos you walk back to the starting point.
