Description
The Achterhoek is a region where you can cycle through an old and peaceful cultural landscape. You will also find a lot of cultural history there, such as in Ruurlo and Vorden, the village of eight castles.
Castle village Vorden
You will soon pass through Ruurlo, and in the old city center you will discover a surprising historic atmosphere. Further on you will see Molen Ons Belang from 1890 appearing on the horizon. And you pass Huis Kieftskamp from 1776. You can also enjoy the characteristic surroundings in Vorden. What a nice village!
Gelders Hengelo
In the scenic landscape of the Achterhoek you can fully enjoy the peace and natural beauty. Cycling here is wonderful. You pass through Hengelo with its beautiful fifteenth-century Remigius Church. On the Steintjesweide you will see the monumental Bleekhuisje from 1750. From this unique building a watchman kept an eye on the precious linen and laundry that were bleached here. Further on you drive through the fragrant forests of't Zand. What a silence!
