At Jan & Jan you can eat and drink and enjoy a delicious meal, after which you set off. You will soon pass the beautiful old village church. Further on you will see the St. Martinus, a flour mill from 1855. In the countryside it is wonderful to travel for miles through a landscape of fields, meadows, hedgerows and small forests. In Germany you pass through Elten, then you drive through the Emmericher Ward, one of the few remaining natural forests on the Rhine. You cross the river via the Rhine Bridge (the longest suspension bridge in Germany). It is nice and quiet cycling on the German side of the Rhine. Just before Herwen you drive through the watery nature reserve De Bijland. Just before Didam you can get off for a nice terrace in the food garden of Plok.

This flour mill was built here in 1855. Long grain was ground with this mill until a rod came loose in 1973. Later, the mill was restored and made grinding again.
