Swinging to Sluis

Your route starts at Camping De Meulinge. From here, you'll wind through the polders to the old fortified town of Sluis. Be sure to stop here to soak up the atmosphere. In Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, on the border with Belgium, lies Retranchement, known for its beautifully preserved fortifications. Nearby, you'll discover the cross-border nature reserve of the Zwin. Behind a massive dune ridge lies an extensive salt marsh where the sea has free rein. Samphire and sea aster grow abundantly here. Numerous bird species use this area as a resting place on their long migrations. Via Strandcamping de Zwinhoeve, you'll cycle to the coast. A little further on, you'll discover Camping Zonneweelde. Groede Podium and the charming old town of Groede are also lovely spots to stop before cycling back to your starting point.
