Description
Those looking for peace and natural beauty can indulge themselves in the Achterhoek. In this cyclist's paradise you will find beautiful historic towns such as Ruurlo and Groenlo.
Crash Museum
The route starts and ends at TOP Marveld on the edge of Groenlo. Soon you cycle past AVOG\\\'s (Achterhoekse Airplane Wreck Excavators Group) Crash Museum, a tribute to the Allied airmen of the Second World War. The permanent exhibition gives a picture of the technical side of the battle in the air during this war. Further on you pass through Lievelde, the village known for the Black Cross.
Tasty pancakes
In the middle of the woods below Ruurlo you can get off at De Heikamp (Dutch Pancake Baking Champion!) for a delicious pancake. Towards the end of your route you will pass through the former fortified town of Groenlo. Although most of the fortifications have been demolished, you can still see the Mussenberg stronghold. There are a number of sights in the center, such as the Old Calixtus Church, which was built between 1275 and 1520.
