Want to charge the battery for a day? Then come and cycle in the Achterhoek. Here you drive through a landscape of meandering streams, hedgerows and small-scale forests. You regularly pass authentic farms. You will also pass through Tussender, a church village that was built on a moraine and is therefore significantly higher than the surrounding area. As soon as you cycle out of the village, you will see the ruins of St. James' Chapel on the left of the road. Further on you drive through the former fortified town of Groenlo. You also cycle through Zwilbroek, a border village called Zwillbrock on the German side. Here is the baroque St. Francis Church from 1720. You drive back to the Netherlands via the Zwillbrocker Venn nature reserve. You pass through Meddo and the heart of Winterswijk. At Restaurant De Gulle Smid you can enjoy a drink and a delicious meal on the terrace.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
