From Enkhuizen you will soon turn your gaze to the IJsselmeer and the island of Marken. Also discover the hinterland, with its nice villages and vast bulb fields!
Monumental dike
You start just behind Enkhuizen and first ride to the picturesque Andijk. From here you follow the centuries-old West-Friese Omringdijk along the IJsselmeer to Wervershoof. This is the only monumental dike in the world, which demarcates a unique cultural-historical area: West-Friesland. A true cycling gem where you ride through authentic ribbon villages and a centuries-old polder landscape. You ride high over the Dijkweg, looking out over the water with all its boats. Holiday feeling at its best!
Bulb area
This region is also known for its colourful bulb fields that are a feast for the eyes in spring. Wervershoof, for example, has many bulb growers, as does Bovenkarspel. You will also pass through characteristic villages such as Hoogkarspel, Lutjebroek and Hauwert with its beautiful white fifteenth-century Nicolaaskerk.
