In North Brabant you will find the peace of yesteryear. This route takes you through the rural area between Roosendaal and Breda. You will pass through many old hamlets, but also through the vast Rucphense Woods.
The first kilometers you drive through a landscape of fields, meadows and streams. You regularly pass a tree nursery, occasionally you pass a small forest plot. It is nice and quiet cycling here so close to the border with Belgium. The kilometers almost pass by themselves. You pass through old hamlets where time sometimes seems to have stood still. You also cycle through the Lange Gooren and Krochten, an elongated nature reserve that consists of coniferous forests and swamps.
Along quiet roads you arrive in Wallsteijn, an estate where conifers, old oak avenues and farmland surrounded by hedgerows alternate. The neoclassical country house was built around 1810. Ahead you drive through the vast Rucphense Woods. Take a deep breath and enjoy the fragrant coniferous trees. At Rucphen you pass the Heimolen, a flour mill from 1844. The route ends at De Menmoerhoeve: time for a terrace!
