Description

From Oudewater you drive a beautiful route through the vast peat area in the Groene Hart. In old Montfoort you will pass the iconic town hall with the IJsselpoort, a beautiful monument from the fourteenth century. You will also pass the St. John's Church from 1500. In the Molenstraat you will see remains of the old city wall. Here you will also pass De Valk, a polder mill from 1753. IJsselstein is also worth a visit. In the historic center you imagine yourself in the Middle Ages. In the polder you pass through Lopikerkapel, a picturesque ribbon village. Between junctions 84 and 54 you will see centuries-old farms. Oudewater is the oldest town in the Green Heart, with the fifteenth-century Grote or Sint-Michaëlskerk. Stop off at Gasterij de Toren along the way!
