Description
This cycle tour is all about freedom, but also about the war history of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. On the first part of the route you cycle past numerous castles and estates. Get off at Museum Huis Doorn and Amerongen Castle. CUBE Store Leersum is also worth a visit - browse through the beautiful bicycles or pick up a handy accessory. You should definitely climb the De Kaap lookout tower to enjoy a beautiful view! You then cycle through the polders to Fort aan de Buursteeg, one of the most important defenses of the Grebbe Line, and past Renswoude Castle. Literally pause for a moment at the military cemetery in Rhenen, where victims of the Battle of Grebbeberg are buried.
