This cycling tour celebrates freedom, but also explores the wartime history of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The first section of the route takes you past numerous castles and estates. Stop at Museum Huis Doorn and Amerongen Castle. Be sure to climb the De Kaap lookout tower for stunning views! Then you cycle through the polders to Fort aan de Buursteeg, one of the most important defenses of the Grebbe Line, and past Renswoude Castle. Take a moment to reflect at the military cemetery in Rhenen, where victims of the Battle of Grebbeberg are buried.
