Tour of De Biezen and Milschot

Your route starts at Brasserie Bravoure. You'll first walk into the village of Heikant. Here you'll see a wayside shrine at the intersection of Bakelseweg and Asdonkseweg. It was erected in memory of the crew of a downed British bomber that perished during World War II. They were returning from an immense bombing raid on Cologne, which was so heavily bombed that night that a firestorm was created. All crew members perished in the crash. Their remains were recovered by the German Wehrmacht. This route also takes you straight through the Biezen and Milschot nature reserves. De Biezen, together with Milschot, forms a beautifully diverse area. Here you'll find moist deciduous forests, conifers, and flower-rich grasslands, fields, and meadows. A wonderful area to walk through.
