From Coevorden to Salland

On the border of Overijssel and Drenthe it is wonderful cycling. You will find forests, peat remnants and surprisingly picturesque villages. The starting point for this beautiful route is a historic place in the fortified town of Coevorden: H Design Hotels Kasteel Coevorden. Just before Gramsbergen you cycle through Landgoed Groote Scheere, a historic cultural landscape that just barely belongs to Salland. It is wonderfully quiet cycling here. Gramsbergen is a surprisingly beautiful town. You cycle through the historic center that enjoys a protected cityscape. Just outside the city you will see several authentic Saxon farms. In the rolling landscape you cycle along the Engelandse Bos, a beautiful spot. Cycling along the Overijsselse Vecht you have a beautiful view of the cozy city center of Hardenberg. A little later you cycle from the Vechtdal into the fragrant coniferous forests of the Diffelerveld.
