From Coevorden to Salland

Cycling is wonderful on the border of Overijssel and Drenthe. You will find forests, peat remains and surprising picturesque places. The starting point for this beautiful route is a historic place in the fortified town of Coevorden: H Design Hotels Kasteel Coevorden. Just before Gramsbergen you drive through Landgoed Groote Scheere, a historic cultural landscape that just belongs to Salland. It is wonderfully quiet cycling here. Gramsbergen is a surprisingly beautiful town. You drive through the historic center that enjoys a protected cityscape. Just outside the city you will see some authentic Saxon farms. In the rolling landscape you drive past the England Forest, a beautiful spot. Cycling along the Overijsselse Vecht you have a beautiful view of the cozy city center of Hardenberg. A little later you drive from the Vechtdal into the fragrant coniferous forests of the Diffelerveld.
