Cycling through the IJsselvallei near Bronkhorst

Bronkhorst likes to profile itself as the smallest town in the Netherlands. Anyway, it is certainly one of the most beautiful towns! You'll have a hard time driving away from here. In the IJsselvallei, the kilometers seem to pass under your wheels. It is wonderful to cycle through the flowery floodplains. From the dike you have a beautiful view over the water. Suideras Castle
It is wonderfully quiet in the polders around Steenderen, Toldijk and Baak. Just outside Wichmond you pass Suideras Castle, which is located in a beautiful park-like forest. This country house was built in neo-Renaissance style at the end of the nineteenth century. However, the estate dates back to 1326. The route ends in the uber-picturesque Bronkhorst at Herberg De Gouden Leeuw: a place full of history and conviviality.
