Discover Willemstad in Brabant

This route takes you from Zevenbergen through the vast Brabant polder. A trip with beautiful views and Brabant fortifications. With the former fortified city of Willemstad as the crown jewel. Stop in Fijnaart at De Fendertse Hoeve for a cup of coffee! From junction 23 you can take a trip to the beautiful former fortress of Willemstad. You can admire the Mauritshuis from 1623, the former country house of Prince Maurits. Further on you will pass the Oude Molen, a flour mill from 1845. Further on is Noordschans: this hamlet is named after the former Fort Hollandia, which was lost in a flood in 1682. Fort Bovensluis dates from 1862. On the edge of the village of Klundert you will see also fortifications: sixteenth-century defenses, part of the Defense Line of the Hollands Diep.
