From the starting point, the route first leads past Molen de Groenvelder, a beautiful thatched polder mill from 1572. In Haringhuizen you drive past the fifteenth-century village church. You will also pass through the Mennonite neighborhood: this former settlement was founded by Mennonites in the eighteenth century. At junction 40 you cross the Noordhollandsch Kanaal via one of the five remaining raft bridges in the Netherlands. You cycle a few kilometers along the Pettemerduinen. At the end is Petten, a village that was rebuilt for the fourth (!) time after the Second World War. The first two destructions (in 1421 and 1625) were caused by the sea. The third by the Germans: Petten had to make way for the Atlantic Wall in 1943. Take a break at Pancake Restaurant Buiten before returning to your starting point!
