From Aalten you set off for a day full of natural and cultural beauty. Cycling in the countryside is wonderfully peaceful. Here you drive through a landscape of forests, avenues and stream valleys. After a while you cycle through the former fortified city of Bredevoort. Here you will see many monumental buildings. And cupboards with second-hand books – after all, Bredevoort is the national book city. After cycling a few kilometers through the beautiful nature, you end up in the old heart of Winterswijk. Here you can see, among other things, the Jacobskerk. At Gastrobar Blend 61 it is time for a terrace, after which you drive to the Bekendelle nature reserve. On the edge of this you will pass an ancient water mill. Finally, you arrive in Aalten through the protected village view. Here you see the twelfth-century Oude Helena Church.
