Tour along the water near Almelo

The route starts at Almelo train station. You drive straight through the historic center of Almelo, after which you cycle out of the city via the Almelose Aa. You cycle across the Twenthekanaal to the Eksosche Aa: a winding stream that you follow for a long way, along a beautiful secluded cycle path through the stream valley. Stop off along the way for a cup of coffee at Gasterij Het Middenplein in cozy Enter! Nearby you will encounter the beautifully meandering Regge. You cycle back into Almelo via Huize Almelo, which dates from 1660. It is private property, but you can see it beautifully from the Gravenallee, which also leads you past monumental farms and a green rural area with forests, hedges and canals.
