Tour of Zutphen: through the Achterhoek and IJssel Valley

Your route starts at Stadshotel & Proeflokaal't Oer. Zutphen is beautifully situated on the IJssel and the backyard of this old town is just as beautiful: the Achterhoek stretches out to the east of the Hanseatic city. You will explore this beautiful area first. You drive past the Warkense Mill from 1878 to the wooded area in the triangle Zutphen - Lochem - Vorden. Old farms, tree-lined avenues, country roads, patches of forest: this is exactly what you imagine when you think of the Achterhoek. Suddenly you are face to face with the IJssel. Touring along the water, you realize that the Netherlands is a real delta area, formed by mighty rivers such as this one.
