Walking through the green Houten

In Houten it is nice to walk through the greenery. A large part of this route takes you along the Vijfwal: a pentagonal park strip consisting of dikes planted with trees. Elevations have been made at the corners that look like bastions. In addition, works of art have been placed in a number of places. During the first loop you walk through the countryside, passing some fruit orchards. Along the Rietplas you will see some colorful wooden houses. You can make a pit stop at Tante Truus, after which you can start the second loop of your walk full of energy. This also leads you over the Vijfwal. You pass the place where the medieval Schonauwen Castle once stood. Only the tower remains.
