Across the border: tour of the Kalmthout heathland

In the cross-border nature reserve Grenspark De Zoom - Kalmthoutse Heide, the Netherlands and Belgium merge almost seamlessly. Hours of cycling through the woods along heathland and fens: a wonderful cycling area!

De Bosduif is a great starting point for your route, because this cozy cycling café is located in the middle of the forest. Shortly after boarding you will pass the Fort of Ertbrand, which is part of the Defense Line of Antwerp. You drive through the beautiful countryside of the village of Stabroek. You see some beautiful farms, on the Ravenhof estate you see a country house with an ancient history.

Open heath
In the Dutch part of the border park you mainly drive between fragrant conifers. In the Belgian part you also cycle over the vast heathland for which this border park is known. A beautiful place that combines peace and beautiful views. There are some tranquil fens on the heath, step off to let the beauty of these gems penetrate you. At De Bosduif you can enjoy a drink and snack on the terrace at your leisure.
