Unknown pearls of Twente

Today you will discover unknown gems such as Het Stift van Weerselo and the nice village of Borne. First you will cycle to the beautiful historic buildings of Het Stift van Weerselo, where unmarried noble ladies were once provided with a good education. This has been a Stift since the fourteenth century, but its history goes back even further: it is located on the grounds of a former Benedictine monastery from the twelfth century. Be sure to visit the Stiftskerk, which was completely rebuilt in 1600 after a fire. On the way, stop at the Borghuis Garden Centre and Restaurant! Further on you will pass the village of Borne. This region is great for cycling. You cycle through a quiet coulisse landscape with historic villages and old regional farms: you will regularly see a characteristic Saxon farm with a half-timbered barn here.
