Unknown pearls of Twente

Today you will discover unknown gems such as Het Stift van Weerselo and the nice village of Borne. First you cycle to the beautiful historic buildings of Het Stift van Weerselo, where unmarried noble ladies were once provided with a good education. This has been a monastery since the fourteenth century, but its history goes back even further: it is located on the site of a former Benedictine monastery from the twelfth century. Be sure to visit the Stiftskerk, which was completely rebuilt in 1600 after a fire. Stop off at the Tuincentrum and Borghuis restaurant along the way! Further on you pass the village of Borne. You can enjoy cycling in this region. You drive through a quiet scenic landscape with historic villages and old regional farms: you regularly see a characteristic Saxon farm with a half-timbered barn.
