The landscape here seems to have been specially created for cyclists, it is so beautiful and quiet. You will also find picturesque old villages.

Green Gorssel
In the rural area of Gorssel you drive through a mosaic of forests, small-scale landscapes and flower-rich fields and fields. It is wonderful to travel for miles in this quiet region. In Gorssel itself you can visit Museum MORE, which is dedicated to modern-realist art from the Netherlands. A little further on you will see the Noorsche Huis on the Molenweg. This building was purchased in Norway in 1913 as a kit.

Gelders Laren
Further on you drive past the Gorsselse Heide, a former military training area. A little further on you pass through the old village center of Almen. The village church originally dates from the fourteenth century. Just past Groot Dochteren you can take a look at Huize't Ross, a beautiful monumental country estate. The village church of Laren is a neoclassical water management church from 1835.

Museum MORE in Gorssel is the largest museum for Dutch Modern Realism. The art collection of businessman Hans Melchers forms the core of the museum. It consists of work by leading Dutch modern realist artists such as Carel Willink, Jan Mankes, Pyke Koch and Charley Toorop. In the brasserie of the museum you are of course also welcome to drink a cup of coffee or enjoy a nice lunch. The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

Huize 't Ross

Huize 't Ross is located in the quiet and green area between Laren and Lochem. It cannot be said with certainty, but this country estate was probably founded in 1700 by the Dumbar family from Deventer. This family was of Scottish descent, which may explain the name of this mansion. Ross is the name of a county in Scotland. The house was rebuilt in 1867 and in 1890 an upper floor was built on top of the former house. At the beginning of the 20th century, the manor and the land around it were sold. A large part of the forests were also cleared.
