In the Sprielderbos - one of the oldest and most beautiful forests in the Netherlands - you will discover the Groot Spriel estate. The country house, built in neo-Renaissance style, dates from 1880. The route takes you through the adjacent Speulderbos, a real primeval forest where nature is allowed to take its course. It is known as 'the forest of dancing trees'. All straight trees were cut down, that's why! Nearby you can have a cup of coffee at Camping Het Vossenhol. In the middle of the woods you pass through the hamlet of Drie, a town of only a few houses that was already mentioned in 855. On the edge of the Ermelose Heide is the site of the only Roman marching camp that the Netherlands has ever known. The contours of the camp can still be seen in the landscape.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
