This route takes you through the Winterswijk National Landscape and the German town of Vreden. A route, therefore, filled with natural beauty and cultural history. First, you cycle through the center of the former textile town of Winterswijk. Here you will see, among other things, the St. James Church from 1869 and the beautiful Vrijheidspark. In Meddo, a 38,000-kilogram boulder stands by the canteen of the local football club. You will also see the 19th-century St. John the Baptist Church here. Next, you cycle for a few kilometers through nature on both sides of the German-Dutch border. In picturesque German Vreden, you cross the Berkel, a small river that flows into the Netherlands further downstream. You also pass the beautiful Berkelmeertje. Back in the Netherlands, you ride through the famous Achterhoek hedgerow landscape. Enjoy! The route ends at Hotel Restaurant Mondriaan.
