Your cycling route starts at the Utrecht Tourist Information Office (VVV). Utrecht is undoubtedly one of the Netherlands' most appealing cities. You'll still see the city's rich history reflected in the many picturesque buildings along the canals and squares. A beautiful waterfront route takes you out of the city. Via Nieuwegein, you'll cycle to Vreeswijk and the Lek River, passing through the beautiful Oudegein Park, which serves as the city's green lung. In IJsselstein, you'll feel like you're back in the Middle Ages. This isn't surprising, as the city center's contours and street layout have remained virtually unchanged since then.
