Tour of Liemers and Hanseatic city Doesburg

Just behind Arnhem you cycle through the Liemers, a beautiful rural area of vast fields, meadows, hedgerows and small forests. You pass through the old city centre of Zevenaar. You will find a cosy and historic atmosphere here. At Giesbeek you cycle along the Valeplas and along the banks of the IJssel. It is nice and quiet to make kilometres here. The Hanseatic city of Doesburg is one of the few Dutch cities that has been preserved so well. In the old city centre you will see many characteristic monumental buildings and beautiful fortifications. In the countryside you will pass through Laag-Keppel and Angerlo, two hamlets where you will see historic sights. Further on you will pass through Havezate De Luynhorst and De Hoop, a corn mill from 1850.
