From Boekel through Brabant villages

From Boekel you can drive straight into rural Brabant. Here you will find peace, space and pleasant church villages such as Erp, Lieshout and Gemert.

Brabant sights
In the Brabant church villages there are many historical sights, such as beautiful old (long-gabled) farms. Most churches date from the beginning of the twentieth century, they are no less beautiful for that. In Lieshout you will pass De Leest, a corn mill from 1899. In Beek en Donk at the end of the Orchideestraat the Oude Toren looms up, the remains of a church from 1400. In Boekel you will pass Molen Boekel, a corn mill from 1785.

Brabant peace
Although this route lacks extensive natural areas, there is plenty of natural beauty to experience. In the predominantly agricultural landscape, you will occasionally pass through small forest plots. Such as the gently rolling Strijbosch west of the village of Handel. You will also cycle through stream valleys and over roads lined with poplars.
