Description
Just above Weert you can take a leisurely walk through nature. This route takes you through the beautiful Weerterbos and over the Hugterheide. Around Weert you will find beautiful nature reserves. Such as the Weerterbos, which is easy to explore on foot. On the Hugterheide you will briefly walk into North Brabant. Despite the name, there is no heathland to be seen here. To control the drifting sand, the ground was planted with conifers a century ago. At the cozy Daatjeshoeve you are welcome for a drink and a bite to eat. Just past the lookout tower at junction 80 is a special monument. A monument now stands on the site of the former border church.
