Walking through the most beautiful landscape of Limburg

Your route starts at Brasserie 12. After a bite to eat and a drink, you are completely ready for the walk. In the Vijlenerbos you mainly walk between the oaks, birches and beeches. It is wonderfully fresh and quiet here. In the middle of the forest you can regain your strength at Boscafe't Hijgend Hert with something tasty. When you walk out of the forest again, you have a beautiful view of Cottessen and the Geuldal behind it. Cottessen was brought into cultivation from the Bellet carre farm that has been here since the thirteenth century. Due to the steep hills, the area was difficult to access for agriculture, so that you walk through a centuries-old small-scale cultural landscape of sunken roads, high-stem orchards and monumental half-timbered farms. It seems as if time has stood still here. A feeling that is reinforced when you walk through the Geuldal with its flowery meadows and babbling river.
