Reppel is a picturesque town near the Belgian Bocholt. You can enjoy a lovely walk here through the vast silence of the Limburgse Kempen. Put on your hiking boots and get to know this area.

The Reppelmolen
Even before you have taken a step, you can take the camera out of your bag for a photo opportunity. The route starts at the striking Sint-Willibrorduskerk, whose fourteenth-century tower is made of marlstone. If you walk a little bit to the left into Monshofstraat, you can take a look at the Reppelmolen on the Abeek. It's a picture! The history of this mill probably goes back to the ninth century. At Hotel-Restaurant-Forelvisserij De Watermolen you can enjoy a snack and a drink or an overnight stay in this ancient mill.

Walking on the Abeek
A little further on you will pass the Pastorij van Reppel. This building with moat and courtyard from 1607 was once the residence of the Premonstratensians. The sundial on the south facade of the oldest part of the building is probably the oldest sundial in Flanders. Behind the Pastorij you pass the first club path of the route. These plank paths take you across the Abeek, one of the most natural lowland streams in Flanders.

Spotting waterfowl
The upper course of the Abeek still flows naturally through the landscape with various meanders. You will also find marshes here and there right next to the stream. Enjoy the landscapes that have arisen along the river and the tranquility that prevails here. From the bird hide on the edge of the river you can watch the many water birds. Bring boots, because you can certainly use them here.
