Views along the Waal near Nijmegen

From Lent you drive to the Snelbinder, the bridge over the Waal, specially constructed for pedestrians and cyclists. From the bridge you have a beautiful view over the iconic Waalkade. After a tour of the historic center of Nijmegen, you will pass Pastry Chocolaterie Looijenga. Stop here to enjoy a delicious pastry or chocolate. You cycle through the old Valkhof Park, which includes the Barbarossa ruins, an ancient remnant of the demolished Valkhof castle. Further on you enter the Gelderse Poort.
