Goereese dunes route through Stellendam

Stellendam is the youngest village on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee. In the outer harbor you have a beautiful view of the Haringvlietdam containing the Haringvliet locks. The De Kwade Hoek nature reserve outside the dykes is part of the Dunes of Goeree. Wind, water and tide constantly move the landscape. The Slikken van Flakkee nature reserve extends over a length of 20 km between Goedereede and Herkingen on the Grevelingenmeer. Mud flats are sand flats that dry up at low tide and flood at high tide. Heck cattle and Fjord horses graze in the nature reserve. Get off at the RTM museum near Ouddorp, with a fine collection of steam and diesel locomotives, carriages and freight wagons.
