E-bike route Gelderse Vallei from Amersfoort

Cycling is wonderful in the Gelderse Vallei. Soon after boarding, you will pass the Appelsche Heide. Switch back a bit in the hamlet of Appel so that you can take a good look at the beautiful buildings. Just past Stoutenburg you cycle through the Schammer, a rugged nature reserve. In Amersfoort you pass the beautiful medieval Koppelpoort. Just past charming Nijkerk you can get off at Pannenkoekenboerderij De Wildenburg. Enjoy a delicious meal here before cycling to the monumental Arkersluis at junction 52. You drive a few kilometers along the Zeedijk, a name that remains from the period when the Zuiderzee lapped and pounded on the land here. On the left is the tamed water of the Nuldernauw, on the right you look out over part of the fourteenth-century Arkemheenpolder.
