E-bike route Gelderse Vallei from Amersfoort

Cycling in the Gelderse Vallei is wonderful. Soon after getting on, you will pass the Appelsche Heide. Switch back a bit in the hamlet of Appel, so that you can take a good look at the beautiful buildings. Just past Stoutenburg you cycle through the Schammer, a wild nature reserve. In Amersfoort you pass the beautiful medieval Koppelpoort. Just past the charming Nijkerk you can get off at Pancake Farm De Wildenburg. Enjoy a delicious meal here, before cycling to the monumental Arkersluis at junction 52. You cycle a few kilometres along the Zeedijk, a name that remains from the period when the Zuiderzee splashed and pounded on the land here. On the left is the tamed water of the Nuldernauw, on the right you look out over part of the fourteenth-century Arkemheenpolder.
