Walking through Stramproy and its wooded area

From Stramproy you can take beautiful walks through the wooded area. This route takes you to the tranquil border area with Belgium.

Stil Stramprooierbroek
From the village center of Stramproy you can walk into the countryside in no time. You pass a few characteristic farms and one of the 388 cast-iron boundary posts that were placed in 1843. Stramprooierbroek is the heart of Grenspark Kempen-Broek. It is also one of the quietest places in Limburg. You walk here through oak forests, along wet marshes with alder and willow thickets and past meadows with wooded edges and pools. How beautiful it is here!

Old Broekmolen
On the Abeek you pass the Broekmolen, an undershot water mill dating from 1738. A nice photo opportunity! A little further on you walk into the deciduous forest of the Areven. Occasionally you have beautiful vistas over flowery meadows and hay meadows. The Sint-Willibrordus church on the village square is a nice sight, the marl tower dates back to the sixteenth century.
