Enjoy the South Limburg Maas Valley

You start and end this route at De Witte Börstel cycling and walking terrace. You will pass through Waterval, a picturesque hamlet where time seems to have stood still. In this region you will see some of the characteristic half-timbered farms for which South Limburg is known. A little further on you will see Elsloo Castle, the eye-catcher of the protected villagescape in Elsloo. You drive downstream along the Juliana Canal to Urmond. The original village center is wedged between the Maas and the Juliana Canal and offers you a beautiful glimpse of the history of this town. In Meers you cycle for a while along a meander of the Maas, which forms the border between Belgium and the Netherlands.
