Along this river, time seems to have stood still, it is so peaceful and unspoiled here. You look out over the rippling water and the grass and reed lands along the banks. A wonderful moment to completely unwind.
You can discover the beauty of Dalfsen at your leisure on foot. This beautiful town has never been granted city rights because of the nearby Castle Rechteren. At Kerkplein you can see the beautiful Reformed Church that dates from 1455. In de Grutte Moole, a shop at Prinsenstraat 35, is also a national monument. The eighteenth-century building has traditionally been a horse mill where grits were ground. Your beautiful route will have a suitable ending at Restaurant and hotel De Barones.
While walking you will walk past the site of the Schat van Dalfsen. In early 2015, a 3000-year-old road and a Stone Age burial ground (some 2900 BC!) Were found here. The burial field measures 120 by 20 meters, this may be the largest burial field found by hunebed builders in northwestern Europe. Many funnel cups have been found in the graves. The discovery did not end there. Several Merovingian burial pits dating from the fifth or sixth century were also found on the site. This early medieval royal tomb contained jewelry and golden swords. Would you like to walk through Dalfsen and the surrounding area again? Then also walk route 334650.
